SMITHSONIAN: The following fish illustrations are a small selection from larger projects (Weitzman, PhD, Smithsonian's Div. of Fishes). The drawings, done to a taxonomic standard, were created for publications which identify and classify species and groups of fishes, mainly Characins from the Amazon basin. Most fish are 1-3 inches in length. View publications to see projects.
