Circling Aloha

Plumeria or Frangipani flowers normally have 5 petals but occasionally a rare 6-fold symmetry can be found. It seemed like the perfect flower to express this balance of stars, hexagons and petals - as the Aloha spirit emerged from its geometry. I produced this design from a workshop with Tom Bree through the King's Foundation of Tradional Arts: The Geometry of Nature.
