Hello! I'm Tamara. My work as a natural science illustrator began in the fantastic world of fish illustration at the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History, so aquatic life has always held a special place in my heart and work. While measuring and drawing small freshwater fish (tetras) from the Amazon, the beauty found in the nuances, detail and sheer variety of life on Earth sparked a wellspring of inspiration that has stayed with me throughout my career. The next stage in my work included over a decade at the Marine Biological Laboratory where I lllustrated everything from cuttlefish to cell membranes to ecosystems. With these amazing experiences and my background in biology, I aim to bring the wonders of marine and aquatic life to life- creating realistic artwork emphasizing accuracy, refinement and beauty.
