Burying Beetle

The critically endangered American burying beetle, also known as the giant carrion beetle, is the largest species in the Nicrophorus genus and currently exists in only 10% of its range. As the name implies, it feeds on decaying flesh, or carrion, a service which makes it crucially important to nutrient cycling in its environment. Visit portfolio page to learn more.
