Scarlet Red Macaw (Ara macao)
Native to tropical rainforests of South America, Scarlet Macaws can reach up to 33 inches from beak to tail. Macaws are the largest species of parrot in the world, known for their elegance and bright, colourful feathers. Preferring to spend their time in large groups near rivers, they are completely reliant on their rainforest home, where they mate for life and only hatch 1-2 chicks every other year.
